Dear Friend,

In the tenth chapter of Luke we read about Jesus sending out 70 gospel workers, two-by-two, to every city that He himself would soon visit. The chapter continues to describe what kind of people Jesus sent out:

• Meek (going forth as lambs among the wolves)
• Dependent upon God (not bringing any unecessary items for the journey)
• Determined (not saluting anyone along the way)
• Adaptable and gracious (eating the things put before them)
• Health Evangelists (healing the sick and preaching the gospel)

Is not this the same need the Saviour has today? Jesus is coming very soon and there are thousands of villages and cities around the world that have no idea why there is so much misery now and the calamity that is coming upon the world. Millions are suffering diseases that could easily be prevented if only someone where there to educate them. Who will tell them of the simple lifestyle principles to add years to their life? Billions are trapped in the bondage of sin and need someone to point them to the Sin Bearer! Who will tell them there is hope?

As you know, LIGHT exists to fulfill this mission! Recently we have joined the ASi New Beginnings Initiative and hope to train 10,000 health evangelists by the end of next year. Extraordinary things are taking place around the world!

Let me share with you an inspiring report from Linda Horner, one of LIGHT's field dirctors, in regard to the recent trip to the central American countries of Guatemala and Belize...

"I truly praise God for the opportunity that we have to participate in the New Beginnings training where we are conducting LIGHT schools. It seems like it is the piece which completes the puzzle—making the training which LIGHT offers more complete with a combination of both health evangelism training and more concrete Biblical evangelism training. After we had completed the previous training in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, one of our participants came and told me how she has already invited a number of the non-Adventist students that are attending the LIGHT training to attend a New Beginnings course in her home, to hopefully harvest the fruit from the seeds that were planted during the LIGHT course. Please pray for her.

We held the New Beginnings training in Guatemala City on the 24th. The conference president had invited small group leaders from all over the conference to come for the training. Since they didn’t have months to plan for it, we discovered that there was also a youth event happening the same weekend, which pulled some of the small group leaders, but we had about 200 group leaders there for the training. The people were so eager, enthusiastic, and on fire for the Lord. The training went really well, and they are planning to begin meetings which they hope that all small groups in the conference will participate in."

Doesn't that report encourage you? The Holy Spirit is at work!

Earlier this year we mentioned our desire to double the work of last year. In 2009 LIGHT and it's affiliates conducted 41 one month schools in 20 countries - training over 700 people. We praise the LORD for this success but feel that it is so small in comparison with the world's need.

Therefore we intensified our efforts and by God's grace we have conducted 46 one month trainings by the end of August. We may not reach our goal of 82 schools this year but miracles do happen. There are four more months until the end of 2010 and Jesus words are echoing in my ears: "Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest" (John 4:35).

The fields are white for harvest! But, who will go to the harvest field? Who will support the laborers?
